In accordance with the Railway Transport Act, the Single Safety Certificate confirms that a railway undertaking has established a safety management system and is capable of operating safely. This document is valid for a specified area of operation.
A prerequisite for obtaining the Single Safety Certificate is demonstrating that the existing safety management system meets the criteria set out in Regulation (EU) 2018/762. For operating railway undertakings, including Szybka Kolej Miejska sp. z o.o., this means the need to adapt their system and include elements such as safety culture, human and organizational factors, and compliance with the TSI “Operation and Traffic Management”.
The currently valid Single Safety Certificate issued to Szybka Kolej Miejska sp. z o.o. is effective from 28 October 2025 to 28 October 2030 and thus replaces the previous safety certificate consisting of two parts (A and B).
