“Increasing the transport capacity of the Rapid Urban Railway in Warsaw agglomeration traffic on existing and planned lines”.
The contract with the Center for EU Transport Projects was signed on November 20, 2013.

- The maximum amount of eligible expenses – PLN 180,504,000.00
- The amount of EU funding received – PLN 144,083,255.97
The project was implemented under Measure 7.3: Urban transport in metropolitan areas, Priority VII: Environmentally friendly transport, Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment 2007-2013.
As part of the Project, financial leasing of a total of 10 electric multiple units was co-financed. Delivery of 4 vehicles type 19WE manufactured by NEWAG S.A. (Financing leasing – ING Lease (Polska) Sp. z o.o.) and 6 35WE vehicles also manufactured by NEWAG S.A. (Financing leasing – MILLENNIUM LEASING Sp. z o.o.) was co-financed by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment.
The delivery of 4 vehicles of type 19WE was carried out between 7 April 2010 and 18 June 2010. The delivery of 6 vehicles of type 35WE was carried out between 12 June 2012 and 17 August 2012.
The essence of this Project was to obtain funding from the European Union for financial leases, already implemented in terms of units delivery. This project became possible thanks to granting individual consent for such solution by the then Ministry of Regional Development.
