Warsaw Protects When We Work Together
Another edition of the “Warszawa Chroni” family picnic took place on Saturday, 5 September. Świętokrzyski Park became a place for meeting others, learning practical skills and enjoying family activities. SKM Warszawa was also among the participants.
“Warsaw Protects” is an annual initiative organized by the City of Warsaw that combines education, practical experiences, and entertainment. Each year, residents have the opportunity to meet representatives of municipal services and institutions in one place and learn about their day-to-day work.
During the picnic, Warsaw residents could not only spend quality time with their families and friends, but above all learn about safety principles and put their skills to the test in practical situations.
A wide range of attractions awaited participants. First aid workshops provided valuable knowledge and skills that could prove crucial in emergency situations.
Particularly exciting attractions included a smoke-filled room simulator and a mobile educational house, which demonstrated the dangers that can be found even in our own homes.
“What I liked most was the tent where it felt like a real fire. I got to see how firefighters work!” said six-year-old Zosia, one of the picnic participants.
Visitors also had the opportunity to experience a vehicle rollover simulator, which demonstrated what a dangerous road situation can look like. They could view specialist equipment used by emergency services, visit the Metropolitan Police Headquarters’ Road Safety Town, and even test their knowledge and skills by taking a bicycle license examination.
After so many exciting experiences, it was time for a well-deserved break, including a tasting of Warsaw tap water and traditional pea soup.
Of course, SKM Warsaw could not be missing from the picnic. We are delighted to have been part of an event where learning about safety went hand in hand with fun and spending time together.
The greatest reward, however, was the smiles and enthusiasm of the visitors. Events like this show that safety can be discussed in a way that is engaging, practical, and easy for everyone to understand, regardless of age.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the “Warsaw Protects” picnic and spent the day with us!
