Warsaw on the Move: SKM Supports the City’s Cycling Culture
On June 1, the second edition of Radio Kolor’s “Warszawa kręci” campaign was launched, with Szybka Kolej Miejska as a partner. The campaign will run until June 30 and aims to promote safety, mutual respect and good habits in urban traffic. For SKM, it is also an opportunity to highlight that bicycles and trains increasingly meet along the same route—in everyday commutes to work, school or university.
Warsaw is increasingly choosing two wheels. Cycling is a way to stay active, enjoy leisure time, move quickly around the city, and complement public transport in a convenient way. This conscious and responsible use of urban space is exactly what the “Warszawa kręci” campaign is about, once again appearing on Radio Kolor and in the city space.
In the rhythm of the city and two wheels
This year’s edition is addressed to all road users: cyclists, pedestrians, drivers and e-scooter users. The organisers emphasise that safety in the city depends not only on infrastructure and regulations, but also on everyday decisions, awareness and a culture of shared space.More and more passengers combine different modes of transport, choosing solutions that match the rhythm of the city and their daily routines. A bicycle is often the first stage of a journey—getting to the nearest station, covering the last stretch more quickly, or simply moving more efficiently around the city. From SKM’s perspective, an important element of this everyday mobility is the transport of bicycles on trains. It is a convenient solution, but it requires mutual awareness—especially when travelling alongside families with children, seniors, people with disabilities, or passengers with larger luggage. The “Warszawa kręci” campaign therefore highlights not only road and cycle path safety rules, but also the culture of sharing space.
A month of conversations about safety
What can we expect in the coming weeks? As part of the second edition of the campaign, reports, expert discussions, video materials, educational spots and various activities in the urban space are planned. Radio Kolor will give a voice to public services representatives, cyclists and Warsaw residents, who will share their observations on safety, everyday habits and the comfort of moving around the city.Throughout June, we encourage you to follow the “Warszawa kręci” campaign on Radio Kolor and in the social media channels of the organiser and campaign partners. It is a good moment to look at everyday travel around Warsaw from a broader perspective—not only as a journey from point A to point B, but also as a shared responsibility for the safety and comfort of us all.The campaign is held under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of the City of Warsaw. It is also supported by partners for whom safety and responsible movement in the city are key elements of daily operations. In addition to Szybka Kolej Miejska, partners include Centrum Rowerowe, Miejskie Zakłady Autobusowe, Koleje Mazowieckie and the Warsaw Metropolitan Police Headquarters.
